Anything can be a canvas
Where do you find a canvas and paint in prison?
In most cases, you can’t. So prisoners with an artistic side can get creative by finding the tools necessary to create art. You may remember some of our previous examples of that, like the piece drawn on a white shirt with a ballpoint pen.
This piece is another example of an unlikely item being used as a canvas. This letter came to us from a brother behind bars. It simply contained his completed exam for one of Tayba’s courses that he was taking.
But take a look at the envelope he sent the exam in. It’s yet another example of prisoners finding ways of expressing themselves despite the constraints they’re facing.
