About Ustadh Tariq
Tariq Patanam began his studies with the hifdh of the Quran and basic Arabic study in Texas. After moving to the Bay Area for college, Shaykh Rami Nsour taught him several texts like Al-Akhdari, Ibn Ashir, Risalah and Purification of the Heart over the course of 4-5 years. Tariq further continued his studies in Qur'ān, fiqh, aqeedah, logic and usul ul-fiqh in the mahdarahs of Mauritania and majālis of ilm Egypt. Some of his other teachers include Shaykh Mohamed Ameen, the cousin of Murabit Al Hājj, Shaykh Ahmed El-Maghīli in fiqh and Shaykh Wāthiq Billah Al-Gāti in Qur'ān.
