Abu Hamza (Daniel) Archuleta, Instructor
Abu Hamza teaches Tayba Foundation's Shafi'i fiqh courses, answers questions that are submitted by students, and serves as a coach/mentor. He graduated cum laude from Zaytuna College, studying a rigorous liberal arts curriculum rooted in both the Islamic and Western tradition.
This curriculum has an emphasis in Islamic Law, Theology, and Arabic. This serves as the basis upon which he supports students in their own study of the Islamic sciences starting at an introductory level to the more advanced. He eagerly accepted the opportunity to volunteer as a consultant in answering questions for the Tayba Foundation, this led to him serving as a grader for the Shafi'i fiqh courses, which then transitioned to being hired as an instructor.
He states that: "I saw the real need and thirst for knowledge that many of our students have and the only significant organization that I am aware of that is addressing the needs of our fellow Muslims who are incarcerated is the Tayba Foundation. I came to realize that my unique upbringing and life experiences, paired with my education received at Zaytuna College, may serve as a means to help the Tayba Foundation."
